[SOLVED] How do I post photos on here??
« on: April 17, 2014, 06:17:13 AM »
OK, I'm a computer idiot. So, could someone tell me how to post a photo on this site?

I can't figure it out through the trial and error method, so I'll break rule #1 of The Man Code and ask for direction!

I found an answer in another thread finally.

1. I had to resize my photos a little smaller.

2. I finally found the attachment option on the post screen at the bottom left of screen.

I use tinypic.com to upload pics to. When you upload they give you a link for forums with the tags and all. Copy/paste into your forum post and it'll be there (forever). This way it drops into the post at size and the forum user does not have to click it to expand the size which is what happens if you attach within a post (i think). If you are not good at sizing photos, tinypic lets you pick from preselected sizes when you upload so it is a nobrainer. Create an account with them and you don't have to always do the capcha codes on every upload.

Very nice!! I wasn't calling you a liar. I just like to have a reason to post the laughing walrus.

I use code to post photos that are either hosted by myself or others. I use img code.

HAHAHA!!! I liked the walrus! He's welcome to return anytime!

I just used the attachment function because it only takes about 5 seconds to resize my photos. I take mostly landscape shots, so my DSLR is set for high resolution so I can use for screensavers and large prints. So I just resize, and save as a second photo with a 2 added to the end of the file name. Easy-peezy!

I had resized my photos to about 500 by 365 pixels but I also had to find a hosting program to link them from. I happened to use imgur, which seems to work fine now.
Google photos didn't allow my pics to be seen.
