Sold my Kymco
« on: April 21, 2014, 02:24:28 AM »
I finally sold my Kymco, I thought I was keeping it for a while and even purchased the new windshield for it but lately the computer started acting up, the dealer is so far away. So I looked around and found a great deal in a New 2013 Suzuki Burgman 650 with 0.0 interest. Rolled my Kymco that I was way upside down and now I'm on the Burgman 650. Very sweet ride, specially after test driving the My Road 700, a huge difference in bikes its almost like night and day, only similarity is the engine. But that is were it stops, And for barely $1000.00 List price. But with special deal and financing that did it made it cheaper.

hi Joe7911 ,I am very surprised and shocked that you have had problems with your dt300  to the point that you had to sell it ,please let us know exactly what type of computer issue you had and could it not be fixed ? ,i would like to know as i am a dt300 owner and perhaps this would help in the future.  :-[

You posted this on the wrong forum. I think this is the one you thought you were on...  http://burgmanusa.com/forums/15-burgman-650/   ;D

I have had abproblem with my seat. The problem I had with the computer could be fixed , I'm sure but like I said dealer is over 50 miles away and got this deal tha I liked. The Kymco is a great bike but rigor omits are not the best. The 500 has better egornomics than the 300 or the 700.
I like the parking brake Nd adjustBle seat on the 500.
I traded for the Burgman because the deal I got and bike has everything I wanted. The 700 if they add adjustable seat and windshield also lower the seat a little then it would be a great contender.
I tested the BMW, My Road 700, Honda Silverwing and the Burgman. All about same power,  size and Price. That is how I made my choice.

The computer problem is the idle. I have to keep resetting the computer every few days, if not when you started it in the middle of the day it would shut off unless you hold the throttle for a few seconds. This would only happen when hot, not in the morning when it was cold. The computer reset fixed it but comas back. It more of a nuisance than a major problem but I like the bike running perfect.

There is a reason why we all need a motorcycle mechanic. You should have got your downtown serviced & fixed getting you a better price when selling it. Good luck with the burgman.
The Kymco DT 300i ABS is the best scooter you can get. I love it's carefree automatic ride. I would like to see kymco make a 600cc version but no heavier then the 300. I would buy it for sure
