During a break while riding this morning I noticed that my LIKE had
finally shed a fastener.One of the two 10mm stainless hex head screws securing the small heat sheild on the side of the exhaust pipe had fallen off.
I'd recently checked/tightened every bolt and screw on the scooter......but I must have missed these two.
I cleaned and repainted the sheild with some exhaust spray paint ....and used my camera to take a look at things under the exhaust. I found a bit of rust under the muffler - brushed, cleaned and sprayed it with the hi temp exhaust paint, as well.
At Lowe's the Mrs. filled a cart with flowers & heavy things for me while I went to the hardware drawers and picked out some stainless fasteners, washers and lock washers for a couple of bucks.
I will try to be even more conscientious about checking the fasteners on my scoot. I use my camera a lot to see what's going on in hard to see places. Load the pix onto the Dell and then I can see what I'm missing!
