Still trying to get the combination of reasonable freight charge and fast delivery.
(For me, the best case is to bring it into US for less than $200)

After spending noticeable time on the phone and/or by e-mail with those forwarder in Taiwan, here comes the best option I am going to bring my seat in:
(I am not looking for cheapest one available, because many things can go wrong especially on this type of int'l shipping, so I am looking for reputable carrier, forwarder to save me some trouble and reduce the risk of losing package.)

Carrier: Taiwan Post (Sea), the official post service of Taiwan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chunghwa_Post

It takes approx. 45-60 days to arrive
Cost: $250 includes seat and Door-to-(your)Door freight

Let me know if any of you is interested (PM me) so I can tell my contact in Taiwan to arrange shipment.

That looks like the stock seat.  The underside looks different, but the actual seat looks the same.

Look a the photo of the seat the Uangalu posted.  It's looks a lot different than the one you posted.

Curious.

@kfc.android    The seat you plan to import is maybe modified compared to the "old" one. But there is a completely new seat available that looks like it gives more room to move in the seat.  I have bought a downtown 2014 second hand with the new seat. there is 5 weeks til I get to see/try my new downtown, but the main reasson for choosing the one I did was down to the better looking seat.
work in Greenland / live in denmark.  love to ride 2 wheels in the alps ;-)

I asked my contact in Taiwan and they don't have anything like this, at least not yet...
The one I planned to import was listed as genuine kymco part and was designed for Euro market, looks like they got a newer model for '14 DTs
Wondering how is the under seat compartment looks like.

Btw, the one I planned to import has different texture on the surface, slightly different shape for rider's part for better riding posture, and firmer foam for better long-distance body support, it may not look as sleek as the one posted above, but still a good option compared to the stock one.
If someone can give me part number of the 2014 seat, maybe I can ask my contact to find it since they are regional dealer in TW

Hmm, looks like two (pics) different seats one with a butt stop and one without.

I would be interested in the one without the butt stop.

Took my seat off yesterday planning to bring it to an upholstery shop and get it modified. Everything about the scoot is great except that seat, hoping to get it moved back a few good inches or more plus change the angle in front so it doesnt angle forwards so much.
