Hi, last week I purchased a 2013 Kymco Agility 125 over the phone to save 125 dollars because the kymco cash back promo was about to end and I knew I wanted this scooter so forced myself to buy it last minute. Not a smooth move I know, in fact it may have been foolish.
Long story short I pick up my scooter (after signing papers) five days after purchasing it over the phone. I have reason to believe the scooter may have been tampered with if only for the superfical signs that near the engine there is gunk that one would think should not be there when buying a NEW scooter and it has 20 miles on it which is a hell of a lot if people have just been test driving it so clearly someone somewhere along the line took it for a joy ride. I wonder if maybe this was bought lightly used and sold to me as new. In any event I dont give a hoot if it works, right?
But anyway. I was wondering if there is a way to verify if my scooter is legitamately new by tracing it's VIN numbers on the scooter (Which I can't find by the way) with the ESN Engine Serial Number? In other words. If it came straight from the factory the ESN and VIP may be documented as a pair of numbers belonging to one scoot? Does Kymco document this stuff?
Also would it be possible for someone to swap an old kymco engine (from say 2010) with a 2013 one? Could I verify if this happened by looking up the ESN?
And where is the VIN? Because I cannot find it using my owners manual.
I am uploading pictures of the gunk near the engine (its like glue) and I want to know if this is common even on new scooters? or if it's not.
And I want to know if you can circle where I can find my VIN number.
Is it in the bar rectangle area I took a pic of?
