what are plug chops?

..plug chops are performed when tuning a carburetor..

..their purpose is to give you an indication of what your fuel / air ratio is, at any given throttle position..

..the reason the are so important to perform is, you could be running a "lean" mix..which could do some SERIOUS damage to your engine...

..NEVER RUN LEAN!!

..btw, Tutto..I read one of your posts where you said you had white smoke from your exhaust....

..what I found to be true, is that if you have a "rich" mixture, the smoke will be black...

Hey guys, I didn't see the white smoke post, but that would usually indicate coolant getting to the combustion chamber.

If the smoke is white, I was always taught oil was leaking around the ring burning with the fuel. Black smoke is lean. 8)

..okay, let's all debate smoke coloring...I was running very rich...I had black smoke from my exhaust...decreased my jet size...the black smoke went away.....

I have a 2-stroke, always blows a little blue smoke.  If it doesn't I have issues! ;D

..that was always my knowledge..

.. Black = Rich..
....Blue = Oil..2 strokes are a fine example..
..White = Lean..or other issues...

I've read in link from wordslinger a thing that I dont understand in my language ... maybe you could say in other way :-s :

"At the end of your full throttle run simultaneously push the kill button, chop the throttle and pull in the clutch."

what kill button ?

he refers at brake ?

I think that is in reference to doing a plug chop.  You want to push the engine shut off switch while maintaining the throttle position until the engine completely shuts off.
