Loose wheel
« on: May 12, 2014, 08:13:02 AM »
I have a 2000 People 125 with 40000 kms on the clock, unfortunately the rear wheel nut loosens after a few kms, could this be a lock nut which is not locking? I would be grateful for any ideas.

Maybe it just lacks tightening...

You can replace the nylok nut or use blue locktight or squeeze the nut in a vise to deform it slightly. There should also be a large backing washer between the nut, and the wheel.

Or tighten it. That's probably the best answer.

Obviously I tighten it after every use, at least I now know that it is supposed to be a locking nut so I'll buy  a new one

Make sure the nut and axle are free from grease and oil to get the right torque value when tightening... Torque is 13 kgf-m
