Is gear talk allowed, here?
« on: February 24, 2008, 02:48:00 AM »
Just wonderin'... I bought a Fulmer helmet a few weeks ago, and I ordered a "boat name" reflective decal from Street Glo to put on the back of it. It was about $30, and took a couple of weeks, but check out the results!  Purty cool, eh?

Gear talk is definitely allowed.  I should probably set up a section for it.  Once we get a few more posts I will do that and move existing posts there.

Nice work man, looks good.  No folds or creases?

A couple of smallish ones between letters, where it's not noticeable, but this vinyl is supposed to breathe, and they say after a few weeks, they should vanish, altogether. It was pretty tricky, since the vinyl is meant to go on a flat (or nearly-flat) surface... I just kept wetting it down with the mild soapy water, and kept working it with the silicone spatula and my fingers. The stuff is pretty thick and heavy, so it's really strong and doesn't tear easily. I have no tears, at all.
