Ethanol takes more than 2yrs to blow up your scoot!

Page 15 of my LIKE200i owner's manual (October 2009 printing) warns not to use ethanol or methanol because :"it can corrode metal parts of your scooter's fuel system, and can damage plastic and rubber parts. Repairs to damage caused by improper fuel usage will not be covered by your scooter's limited warranty, and since Bob's Your Uncle - you would do well not to buy any Kymco product in the USA every again! Thank you, the Boys in Taiwan."
Seriously - it says most of the above.
So, it is good that Kymco uses a type of materials in our scoots which will apparently withstand the effects of ethanol long enough so that your Kymco scooter will explode beneath you only some time after the 2 year warranty expires.
That was a close one...!
Gotta love these reassuring manuals,  and their fine editors.

I have a spare qmb 139 that I am building to run on Ethanol. I am making all the carb gaskets out of food grade silicone, the fuel lines, and manifold coupler are silicone, and I have a poly carbonate float bowl, that I installed a stainless needle valve in for a drain.

I can produce Ethanol under lisc. for approx 2-3 bucks a gallon including energy cost. I am also developing/designing a vacuum assisted distillation column that will be able to produce eth. using solar heated water for the boiler heat. AKA free energy to run the still cutting the final cost down to approx. .75 cents a gallon to produce.

Ethanol has everything in its favor for use as fuel except for the influence of BIG OIL on the transportation industry. The engine mods required are actually CHEAPER than the OEM replacement parts. That's your conspiracy theory in practice.
