Changed my rear tire once again. She is now at 29000kms.

This morning she was hard to start, finally she did after long cranks while playing with the throttle.

Any idea why this was so? Last rode her was just 48hrs ago.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Still waiting on the LED strips, but took it out for a ride in the light rain. Amazing the protection compared to the open bikes I am used too.

Re: The Fuel Filler Cap

With these bikes the gas system is sealed so you need this to work

How true. I bought a 'universal' fuel cap today from the local motor factors. What a difference - particularly at low speed, where previously  it was very jerky in slow traffic.

Never having ridden an automatic before, I just thought that's how it was.

Not a bad fix for less than a tenner.

Cheers!

Yeah, these bikes have a sealed fuel tank system. They will not run properly if the seal does not exist.

Well thanks again for your advice - if I had not come on here, I would have just have lived with it

it might also be worth a thought to others who experiencing poor low down/part throttle running to check that the seal on their fuel cap is working properly.

Oh, and I picked up a service manual from offering a download here, so that's an added bonus.

Well it's a beautiful day, but first a touch of lunch, a bt of MotoGP and away out for a run in the courtryside.

Cheers.

morning chaps, jimboe mentioned the crankcase breather, i don't know whether this is it or not, but when i give mine a service, there is always a good bit of s**t in it, it's is like thin cloudy oil!! unplug it and drain.
if anyone can enlighten me as to what its call!!

It's a called a ventilation tube assembly (part 1737A-KUDU-900) and is used to prevent oil from the crankcase blow-by tube (which empties in the air box) from contaminating the air filter.

(12,000 ) miles,.  ( Mitsuboshi size 25.2 mm. X 1004mm.  new belt ),.  most belts I have bought are 24 mm wide,.

de dee, I think I am going to change my tires soon. I'm curious as to why 2 different models of tires ? I still have the factory maxxis' . I'm trying to get as many opinions as I can before I make my purchase.

I just turned 6,000 miles today. I have to say this is just one great bike. To me it feels best at highway speeds of 55 mph or less but it settles in fine at 65 mph plus too. it is just more a relaxed ride at the lower speeds. Having the topbox for shopping works wonders too. being able to carry 2 gallons of milk and a couple of bags makes it great for small store runs.

my next project looks like finding a good sidebag system.

When you find one TAN let us know. With the topbox I have been able to carry 2 12 packs of soda, a gallon of milk and 3 bags of stuff between that and under the seat
