Have seen similar extensions used, great idea. I just ordered the D294st though. I like the idea of additional hand coverage.

I am also a winter rider and the extra hand coverage the Givi gives you helps a lot.

Yes, I have always liked the full coverage from the wind.   :D  So I am sure I will be very happy with the new shield I should be getting today!

Had a new tire valve fitted in the front wheel.

Last Sunday the valve popped in the front wheel of my DT while I was riding.
I was my fault. I noticed some hairline cracks on the valve rubber some weeks ago, and ignore them. Big mistake!

Before it happened I went through two double lane tunnels and was about to continue my journey at about 50mph but had to come off the motorway because a section of it was closed for maintenance. I went over an overpass with an "S" curve at speed and on my way down at the very end of the overpass while I was braking I suddenly lost all air pressure in the front tire. There was no pop or any other audible sound. It was just gone. I could barely ride (fight her) though a roundabout and get off the road into a parking lot about a 100m away. The front of the scooter would go every direction but not straight. Then I waited close to 3 hours for the recovery, but I was grateful for going through this without a scratch neither on myself or on the scooter. It could have been a disaster.
I don't even want to think of what would have happened if it popped while I'm in the tunnels and/or while I'm on the motorway or the overpass at higher speed....
Someone must have been watching over me from above. I consider myself extremely lucky despite the mishap.

Ride safe!

Very lucky, I’d say. Glad to hear you’re all right. I just dodge minor bullet, but nothing compared to yours. My mechanic pulled an industrial staple out of my front wheel, but it wasn’t deep enough to cause a puncture. Regardless, I’m getting new tires at the end of the month for a trip to Canada. Sounds like you’re in the same boat (tire-wise) . Tires are the most important part of the bike. Murphy (as in Murphy’s Law) is very bi-polar when it comes to two- wheelers.

Ride safe. You’ve got a good war story to tell.

Had the new front tyre fitted and put the front wheel back on. Tomorrow, as it's a nice dayI might head up to Dallas.

Dallas, Scotland that is (pop. 200), not the  other Dallas, Texas.

Should be fun.
