You said it Karl. I adjusted my throttle cable and have ridden the pass two days. Weather could not have been better. The DT is a fun ride.

A big OOOPPPPS!

Backing one scooter out of the garage, tipped the Downtown into the CTX700 !    UGH,  !#!!#$,  %&(* !!  lol

Luckily, only broke the right side mirror on the Downtown.

Have to order (eBay), I have the mirrors that mount to the windshield mounts.   Msged the vendor
, waiting reply (Taiwan) to see if I can just purchase one mirror.

Hey wheels, how do you like the CTX700? I'm going to look at at a brand new 2015 DCT w/ abs model, tomorrow. $7600 OTD.

Good Price, I paid 10K with the side bags and rear rack.

Highs,   great balance, handling for a semi-cruiser, mpg about 60, enough go for one person
Lows,    scrape bits on turns , added lifters.    w/s junk as usual.   Chain maintenance is yuck.

I am on the CTX forum under .... username ....   wheels

Imo, get the rear rack, Honda side rack and bags too pricey, look for other options.  May need available OEM w/s.

If you have 31" inseam look at the NC700 with DCT.   I prefer my feet under me but didn't want to bother with lowering the NC.

Overall, if I could have my feet directly under me ... this would be my best bike ever.

Ok, thanks wheels. I got the 2016 CTX700 DCT abs. Just picked it up today, the ride is awesome. Will be adding the back rack and maybe the side bags. I will shop around.

Well the broken screen repair went ok (ok as in its fixed, just not very pretty) and I would have been happy enough to live with it....however I noticed this Puig screen......

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Windscreen-Puig-V-Tech-Line-Kymco-Downtown-300-i-09-16-smoke-scooter-touring-/282337482963?hash=item41bca018d3:g:WBsAAOSwopRYiA5m

.....had fifty pounds off and free P&P. Smoked wouldn't be my first choice (I'd have preferred clear), but it looks like a nice enough item and I think it will look ok against the white DT.

It'll do the job.

I think I'll keep the repaired Givi for winter (it'll looks like it has better hand protection) and if I break it again it won't matter so much.

How many of you guys run heated gear in the colder months and still have frozen hands after a ride? I tried using cold weather gloves when it drops below 40 degrees but I didn't like them because of how big and clumsy they were. My solution: Barkbusters Blizzard handguards. They fit the bike perfectly, a little pricey but totally worth it! I installed them today and I'm looking forward to riding in comfort! These should really keep the cold wind/rain off of my hands. My current set up: Bike master heated grips, Barkbusters blizzard hand guards, Tucano Urbano termoscud, and heated seat pad for both driver and passenger, although with the leg cover the heated seat isn't necessary anymore.

I bought them on amazon. They're just 12v butt warmers that you would use in a car. They plug into your standard 12v cigarette lighter socket which I have connected to the battery. I used to ache after riding for about an hour, now I don't after installing these so it does help, at least for my size and weight. 5'8 150 lbs. My only complain about them is that they have an LED on the 12v plug that will drain your battery if you leave it connected so you have to connect it/disconnect it every time you ride. I hardly ever use them anymore for the heating feature now that I have the leg cover

Sorry for the mix up, but I can correct it on my next chapter. I hope everything else is all right. Would it be fine to post a link here in the forum.
