TV, I meant to get back on this sooner, sorry! The grease in the tube between the bearings is no big deal as long as the seales at both ends are operational. The one next to the roller bearing is the weak one but yours looks good.

My speedometer went funny this morning, reading zero for the first 10 minutes of my journey. I initially thought the cable had snapped, but then it came back to life in a fairly erratic way. So maybe not snapped, but loose?

Gawd almighty <groan>. What was wrong with using a normal, reliable (sort of), easy to replace cable?

After a quick glance, there is a cable roughly in the location of where a speedo should be at the front wheel. What's that then?

Inspect carefully, the do-dad at the end of the wire (cable). It has to be fairly close but not touching the tone wheel, that thingy bolted to the front wheel hub. Elevate the front wheel and give it a spin to see if the tone wheel is straight, the wheel runs true and does not slide side to side.

Found my air intake tube was loose, so while replacing my airfilter, I got some epoxy and glued it back into place.

While the epoxy was out, I dabbed it into the bolts which hold my driving lights to the bike as a theft prevention method.

Sure.

But initial thoughts after covering 200kms since they got fitted:
* please note my comments are comparing them directly to the Michelin Power Pure SC fitted previously. http://moto.michelin.co.uk/GB/en/tyres/products/power-pure-sc.html

1) Turning in is slower than the PP SC, probably due to the Diablo Rosso's (DR) profile
2) DR ride is more compliant. Not as harsh as the PP SC, but that dulls the 'feel' thru the bars
3) Due to #3, at lean, it is calmer but lacks the feel. Perhaps I need more time to get used to it
4) DR is quieter


Will return to this when I get more miles on it.
