Why not here in the US ?
« on: May 31, 2014, 11:03:05 AM »
Ok I found a source in Taiwan and the stuff is on the way but no US dealer really wanted to go thru the trouble of getting this stuff. Any ideas why?

Maybe they are uncomfortable dealing with a shop in Taiwan directly or they do not find it profitable. Taiwan can be a nice place to go on a shopping vacation. Some of my friends got their Movie 150s decked out with performance and suspension parts for a very reasonable sum.

Would love to be able to dress my DT 300 up with some of this 'Bling'...expensive, though .

The price for those things are painfully expensive!  Better you make a trip to Taiwan or Thailand where you can bling up your scooter with whatever you wish for a fraction of those in the cataloque, but I'd take those Kymco girls though.

I have a friend working in Taiwan who found the same parts at a third of the listed prices. I should have them in a few weeks.

Well Amac, I think you should hook everyone else up. I would love those gold grips for my GT.

My buddy say this guys getting ready to or has a online store. I can't find it but we shall see.
Priceing on the other hand I can't help with. This was an old friend helping out another.

He has a "naked handlebar" setup also for the DT.

The truth is that the USA is not a scooter market to begin with.  Although Kymco does have a nice slice of the market pie for scooters (and maybe ATV's)  in the states, it does not have a market share for motorcycles.  So frankly it's not worth the effort to open a US market for the parts.

That being said, it is the age of the internet...so depending on shipping and handling charges you might be able to order directly from them.  I have to admit there are a few nice things there.

No question were not the scooter target market but even US dealers have a hard time getting the bling. That's the part I don't get. I'm not suggesting that these should be stocked items but If I want it and am willing to wait it should be easy.
