Hey guys, I just picked up my Agility 50 yesterday.  I went ahead and followed the instructions to cut the cdi.  I cut about 1/2 inch in but have not seen the copper wire (maybe I am just blind).  I really don't want to cut too deep.  Is it pretty obvious when the wire has been cut?

..it may be that the abrasiveness of what you cut with has dragged the black plastic of the casing over the copper wire, making it not visible...If you have made your cut like the one in those two pics below, you should be OK...Did you see a difference in your engine revs? Should let it rev higher...

I agree! run it and see... You should notice a dramatic difference. RPM's should jump from 8,500 to around 13,000. Theres no way of knowing exactly where the wire is without x-ray. I would hate to coax you into cutting too far, but a little at a time, and you should be able to see it.

Go for it...My real name is Barock, and I can easily be reached at 1600 Pen. ave. U.S.A. If you cut too far send me the bill.

What speeds will i get up to with JUST the rev limiter off, and not taking the washer off the flywheel?

...man, you really should do both....really.....

..the increase in rpm may cause your belt to ride in the same location on your pulley halves if you don't remove the drive boss limiter, in turn causing undue wear on your variator as a whole...

..and it's not the washer on the front of the flywheel, it's the one between the two pulley halves...

..just in case you weren't sure..

...laws vary from state to state..here in NC, insurance is not required on anything lower than 50 cc....(KYMCO Agility 50 is actually 49 cc) However, the speed limit for such vehicles is 35mph....

Does the cutting of the wire increase chances of the engine overheating, and blowing up? what are peoples experience? how long have they been going, and this hasnt happened?
