There are a lot of unscrupulous dealers out there, unfortunately. And a lot of cheap Chinese crap scooters. Glad there are good dealers willing it put out videos for the general public warning them about these pieces of crap. Always go with a reputable brand and dealer - you get what you pay for! We have so many regulations for imported cars - it amazes me that such junk can be sold as a motor vehicle.
When I go to Florida every year I see so many Chinese scooters....and have visited a dealer that sells nothing but -
It is hard to tell by looking what you are getting when you write the check.
Some say it is possible to get a decent running Chinese scooter  - but probable if you buy a brand name.
And then there's safety of construction...

On the other hand, if properly maintained and not abused:

Acworthpatrick has around 50,000 miles (knows difference) on his Automoto (GY6-B engine).  Some other GY6-B scooter variations.

Unknown if he still rides the scooter in this video (standard GY6 engine).

I am (of course) with Tortise on this... If the dealer is a mess then ANY bike he sells will be a mess.

We all know about cheap bikes. We own them. (how quickly we forget eh)

Speculating that many GY6 engine failures can be attributed to "wide-open-throttle syndrome":

They "are what they are" . . but if running in extreme heat conditions, it might be prudent to change GY6 engine oil more frequently with a heavier weight, monitor cylinder head temperature with an indicator, and back off full throttle a little.

Performance fans typically flow LESS air.
