RAM Mount cupholder questions
« on: June 10, 2014, 09:30:30 PM »
Hey guys I have a "new to me" People 150 that I got 2 weeks ago. It's my first scooter and I am loving it so far. However, I am missing my weekend morning trips my local coffee shop (Dutch Bros) because I don't have a means to hold my coffee.

Curious what set ups you all have for taking a drink with you?

I have seen those RAM cupholder mounts but can't exactly tell what set up will accomplish what I want. Do any of you have a RAM cup holder, if so, what parts do you have and how do you like it?

Anyone with my scooter, what do you use for a cup holder?

Thanks!!! :)

On my people 150, I just took the cup holder from my old Huffy bicycle and mounted it to the dash with 2 screws. Works very well, surprisingly.

Not a bad idea, but I'm a little averse to drilling holes into my scooter  :D

I saw a cupholder at walmart that just hung on a hook. I think it was in the bicycle section. It might work on the bag hook near the glove box area. Been thinking of trying it on my Super 8 150.

You can connect a RAM mount several ways.

You can connect a plate to your brake reservoir

You can screw it into your bike (I don't like that idea either)

You can get a bracket that wraps around your handlebars and tightens in place.  (this is what I use on two scoots so I can carry drinks, x-mount, whatever on either bike).

All the options are visible at www.rammount.com
People S250 - 2007
Honda Metropolitan - 2002
Lance Cali Classic 125 - 2012
Peace Verona 2012 - sold
Lance Cali Classic 50 - 2011 - sold

Since you are installing a cup holder may I suggest a small (19") monitor to make texting easier. You might want a sissy bar type deal or a backrest so you can lean back, and enjoy your hot coffee, and relax while you text your friend about how cool your scooter is.
Cup holders do NOT belong on motor bikes. I suggest taking that bike seriously before someone gets hurt.

No offense meant. Just sayin'

Just so there are no more stupid comments like this one on here, let me clarify. I want a way to bring my coffee home so I can drink it, when I am home. Seems fairly reasonable to me........ I do appreciate all of your assumptions/sarcastic suggestions, and making people feel welcome to ask questions on this forum. I suppose if it made you feel better about yourself, then it was probably worth it...

Realistically I believe it was a safety reminder. Hence the "no offense meant" part.

And I want it back. I need something to throw at kids/old ladies.

Like I said No offense meant. BUT I did feel better for getting that out so basically you are correct.
