What mileage are you guys getting out of your OE belt?

Manual say 20,000km to replace the main belt.

How many kilometers or miles are you guys getting out of your DT?

  I checked the belt at 20,000 km.  and it looked very good so I put it back in and checked it every oil change, finaly changed it at 30,000 kim. and the belt still looks good small cracks when you bend it , but still same width,.  we will see how the second belt lasts,  15,000 km. on it

I changed it at 17000km. I is getting loose, started to slaping the aluminium crank house. So I bought a Malossi Kevlar belt. (i am 100kg)

Strange, but I am definietly not a bad boy... My friend (Peugeot Geopolis 400) was a motorbike racer, I am a half of him .
My belt wasn't worn at all, but become loose...

  your belt comes loose,. they dont streach, I think it was long to start with,. my first belt was 1010 mm. long , next 2 belts are 1004 mm.  I was reving high rpm.  so I shaved 1 mm. off each side of the variator, so it would be narrrower I measured the width of drive pulley, it was 25 mm.  the belt was 24 mm. so it never got to the top of the pulley,. now it gets 6,500 rpm.at 70 mph.  before it was 7500 rpm at 70 mph  and higher in the hills

I would dare to do so serious modification...
I dont't know how long was my original belt, but the Malossi is 1004mm long as the manual told me.

I am not sure about stretching, but I am sure about that I didn't hear that slapping-knocking noise from the belt until this winter (and I saw vibrating up an down the belt between the vario and clutch). And its gone when I changed to the new belt. Now everyting is in silence as before...

You do want the belt to sit just below the top of the rear pulley set. The reason is if it sits at or above the rear pulley top the cover or skin on the outside of the belt begins to separate from the pressure during acceleration.

This happens more so w/ Malossi belts. I've blown up quite a few of them. I found going from a 30* angle belt to a 28* prevents this if your belt does ride at the top.
