49cc EFI de-restriction (Compagno 50i)

Short guide to get a lot more power out of the EFI 49cc Kymco scooters. This is for the Compagno 50i (New Sento). I can't vouch for how many 49cc EFI kymco have this restriction but it may be many. Very very easy to do.

Remove seat bucket or Maint. Door under seat.
Find the screw that looks like an idle screw on the throttle body.



This screw makes the throttle only go to about 50% throttle as you can see with the Diagnostic tool readout before and after stop is removed.



It's that easy!! The Compagno 50i is a sweet little 4t 49cc. Check out the cylinder head on this thing.

Roller rockers and 3v !?!?!?!?! Kymco whyyyyy not on all the air cooled bikes!?!??!
Anyway not even sure if anyone on here owns a Compagno, and since we don't get many models in the U.S. I have no clue how many bikes share this engine globally but thought it would be useful.

Cool demo Bettin. Does the Campagno 110 also have the 3 valve set-up?

Yeah the 110 is a great bike it's faster than the Agility 125.

thanks for sharing! how does this scooter ride? does it feel better built than the agility and super 8?

kymco is going to be lowing the price to gain more interest in the market for these two scooters

The build quality of both the compagno 50i and 110i is far superior to the mainland China Kymcos. Performance on the 50i is a solid 40mph once derestrcted, but I've had customers averaging over 100mpg. The engine is on a whole other level compared to the qmb based agility engine, 3valve with roller bearing rockers and efi. The 110i is actually my favorite small engine Kymco on the lineup right now. I'm 6'1" and fit on the compagno better than the like or agility, and it's performance is almost as good as a 150cc, 4 valve engine with roller rockers and efi is a really awesome combo for a 100cc scooter. I don't think anyone on here has a compagno, sadly. Also the newest batch of 50i's we got came fully de-restricted out of the crate (technically illegal) for shine reason, throttle pull and smooth boss. One last thing about the compagno it's the gas tank is under the floor so the seat storage kicks butt and keeps the CG low.

kinda what i figured, and the price reflects that. same thing with the movie 150. awesome scooter and is loads smoother than the agility or S8. the extra $1k scares people.

I just bought a 2013 50i in Kansas.  I had them turn that screw when I bought it at the dealer.  They actually took it out.  Mine is still somehow restricted because even though it gives more throttle it doesn't go faster than 30 mph even with more throttle.  It seems to go 30 uphill and not even much more than 30 downhill.  I took it up a couple steep hills and it had zero problem doing the hill at the same speed as flat ground (30 mph max).

Wonder what restrictions are still on the bike?  Variator spacer or maybe cdi is rev limiting it?  Either way, not much need for full throttle with the current setup since more throttle basically is doing nothing.

Dealer did mention that since Kansas is one of the rabid 30 mph max states-- he said there were like 6-- they have to restrict moped legal scoots in these states.  He said all the honda and yamaha bikes don't bother which is why they are all licensed as motorcycles here-- ie metropolitan and zuma.

I just really wanted the fuel injection on a moped legal because i hate messing with carbs. 

What do you think is restricting it now?  Guess I can call Kymco and ask, get the right parts to derestrict it and go from there.

Sounds like they didn't take out the variator restriction. All states have their own moped laws. Oregon it is 30mph too but no cops look for mopeds going faster than 30, hell I had my zuma doing 60+ and never got hassled, with moped plate still. If you want it to go 40 they HAVE to do the variator boss.

Boss/rollers (5.5 gram)/Malossi red or purple Contra spring.40-45 mph.

Hopefully that is the right part then i will replace that and if that gets me to 40 great if not then maybe cdi?  Probably best to call up Kymco and see if they can clear up the restriction and just do what is needed.  I don't need 40-45 just a strong 35 would probably be fine.

Ummmm idk if that's the right part, how come you ordered that one? Also there is no cdi replacement on the fuel injected scoots, at least not easily installed. It's tied into the ecu.

I figured it was 7 bucks so why not get it on the way and if it is the right part i will put it in.  Wrong part, oh well 7 bucks.
