Denise,
I received your letter today and wanted to contact you since you have apparently not had returned contact with others in our organization or your dealer.
This matter has been addressed with your dealer and should be handled by your dealer. These parts were not factory installed but installed by the dealer upon setup of the vehicle. With that in mind the dealer should be responsible for any loss or damage to these parts due to improper installation. It has been my understanding that our district manager has discussed this with your dealer and that it is/ was being handled as it should. I will be sure that the dealer is contacted once again to see what they may be doing to resolve this for you. If you have any further concerns please let me know. I also left a message on your answering machine but was cut off before completing it.

I’ve reviewed your response, and frankly do not understand it. I have been the only one who has initiated any contact over this matter, and have done so several times in various forms. I finally received this response after three e-mails to KymcoUSA (dated 7-14, 7-17 and 7-21). My last e-mail to my dealer was dated 7-11, after I received a message on my answering machine from Steven that Yamaha/Suzuki of Mineola had not ordered the parts required to fix my scooter (this was three weeks after I gave them notice in person of this incident). I received no response to that e-mail whatsoever.
As I mentioned in my e-mail to KymcoUSA dated 7-14, the personnel at Yamaha/Suzuki of Mineola advised me when I went to the dealership on 6-21-14 to report the incorrectly installed and damaged front cover that they are no longer handling sales or service of Kymco products. Where does that leave me? I’m already very annoyed over the fact that Yamaha/Suzuki of Mineola sold me the scooter without first advising me that they would discontinue servicing Kymcos less than two months later and leaving me without a Kymco service location within close proximity to me.
I would appreciate if you would provide me with the name and phone number of the Kymco district manager so I may speak to him directly about this. I would also like a copy of the set up instructions for my scooter; since I was given the scooter after the dealer prep was done I have no way of knowing which are installed by the manufacturer and which by the dealer.
I am copying Yamaha/Suzuki of Mineola in on this e-mail, and will also send a copy of the correspondence I sent to KymcoUSA yesterday via a separate e-mail so they can see it as well. The bottom line is that my scooter must be repaired and at no cost to me, and that this needs to be done very soon. I suggest all the required parts with installation instructions be sent directly to me immediately, I can bring them and the scooter to Yamaha/Suzuki of Mineola for the installation, and the differences between manufacturer and dealer can be resolved between you. Whether this part fell from the scooter due to manufacturer error or dealer error is immaterial to me; this damage is in no way my fault and I have waited over a month now to have it resolved. Kindly work together now to resolve this for me. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
