I "googled" the 500i and the owner's manuals say there is a button on the panel, right hand side, that says, "OIL SERVICE" and one should press it for 2 seconds to reset the oil service light. Now I have seen many of your posts and you would not have missed this with or without an owner's manual. So Kymco made a change in the setup since these pdf manuals were posted and yours is different. I do not have a 500i but I do have a DT300i and ya gotta push two buttons to reset the oil odometer which turns on the oil light.  I may be able to figure this out if I could see a picture of your instrument panel.

Still nothing.  This is the 08 model Xciting 500.  I know there is a way...I've done it before.

i know on my 2012, i believe its the top right button on the dash, says service or something, its a recessed button, i have to use a pen and push it in and hold for a little bit and it resets the service light. i would imagine it should be the same on yours, dont quote me on that though.
always leave yourself an exit incase you get stuck in a pinch. RIDE SAFE!

Good Grief, I guess I'm blind. I've been trying to get my "oil service" light off also. Now I see a button right side of dash to push. Hell to get old.
Ride on, Kymcorider.

You have to push and hold the button down for a few seconds with key on until it go's off. I have to use a (retracted) ball point pen to be able to push the button down far enough. If button is not pushed down far enough the light will not go off. I retract the ball point as not to tear through the rubber of the button when i'm pushing down hard on the button. In the winter when rubber is cold and stiff, it is very hard to do. :-*
