Just bought a 2000 people 50 2 stroke w/5k miles on it. Ran great on test drive and a couple of days there after. It just started this thing upon first start in the morning where it will start and idle for a few seconds then die. After that, take the helmet back off because it won't restart for a while.
I took the carb off and blew out all jets and ports. Checked air filter, drained and replaced fuel.
Put it back together and it ran great for a day and then the problem started again the next morning. This time I took the airbox off drained the bowl and held the starter with my hand over the carb intake until fuel built up in the intake removed my hand and she starts right up and idles flawlessly...obviously I can't do this every morning!!
I believe the bike is stock..... It has an 82 main jet and a 32 pilot jet
The spark plug is a nice dark coffee color and upon idling it sounds best with the air/fuel screw dialed all the way in clockwise.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
