Does KYMCO USA do anything like this?
« on: July 16, 2014, 02:03:01 AM »
I'd love to do something like this with other KYMCO riders. It would be a great meet up opportunity for forum members. A 10-20 city US tour would be awesome.

Kymco Hates us round eyes... They just want our $$$'s

Your best bet is checking w/ local scoot dealers for events they might sponsor. In all my years here I have never read a postabout any Kymco event here in the US. I am most likely wrong but I have no recollection of such a thing.

The only thing I have heard about Kymco USA is that they sponsor the Las Vegas scooter rally. Our Vegas correspondent would know if this is true.

That's funny a heck. I tout Vespa as being the team that cares/has better bikes/ect, and the vespa guys root for Kymco as the team that cares.

It's a classic case of the greener grass on the other side. I always found it was only greener because the other side has more BS. Who would have thunk it.

LOL but they only say it on a Vespa forum. I guess they figure the rest of us can't the stuff they put there ! Leave it to the vespa class to turn it into a "grammar Lesson"......

They do know the rest of the US thinks all scoots are Vespas  anyway don't they?
Or worse think they are mopeds.

I wish I could find a few of those old Mopeds. I haven't seen one around in years.

You're right about everyone here calling a whatever brand scoot either a Moped or a Vespa. That's kinda funny.

I have a friend that I call my 'daughter' (I was her legal guardian for almost two years until she turned 18 ) whose son rebuilds old mopeds ( he's about 22 years old ) . He loves them !

He must post on either MopedArmy or 1977 Mopeds. See if you can find out his User name. I post under Zombie or Vilano zombie on MopedArmy too. Just not as often as here...

Maybe I can help the kid out from time to time. Parts hook ups ect.

The only thing I have heard about Kymco USA is that they sponsor the Las Vegas scooter rally. Our Vegas correspondent would know if this is true.

Guys:
It is yes and no for the Vegas Scooter rally event. When I went for the 2014 rally, they stopped with their 50cc scooter raffle prize. The reason was because those bikes would end up on Craiglist. Even when the people got their kymco bottle openers and winter hats, the people did not like Kymco at all. I know up until 2014 they were sponsoring the rally. The Vegas rally consist of all the vintage lambrettas and Vespas. The majority of those scooterists do not like the modern bikes. They refer to them as plastic even though the current Vespa bikes do have plastic parts on them and are all automatic instead of manual transmission bikes.  I guess those people love fixing their bikes as their main hobby instead of getting a modern bike where these bikes are easier to maintain and find parts for.

I know for 2015 the Brits are coming to the Vegas Rally that has an Elvis theme to it. I understand the part about it being a retro 60's rally which makes sense. I respect those guys who ride the vintage bikes. The Vegas scooter rally is put on by the Heat Seized Scooter Club of Las Vegas. Those people are more about drinking and fixing their bikes instead of actually going on rides. Even when one checks their website, they are very discreet about where they meet. They respect my scooter club and we respect their club. The main guy for the Vegas Scooter Rally is Eric Porter. He does not live in Vegas, but he lives in Boston, MA. I have met him and he is a cool kat.

Bummer. New piece of equipment coming in and I've been told no vacation in Aug and possibly not September If anyone goes we must get pics and/or video.

I searched the website and come up with nothing. You have a more refined web address for the event.
