Oil screen?/ plug gap?/plug suggestions?
« on: July 18, 2014, 03:42:35 AM »
Just changed my oil for the first time used yamalube  4 stroke 10w-40. Manual suggests 15w-40 but says you can use 10-40 also. Any suggestions?
Oil screen question? Forgot to check the oil screen when I changed the oil is there usually much need to check it should I do it over or will it be ok till next time?
Plug gap? Manual says .24-.28. What are you using?
Also any spark plugs that you reccomend for a replacement when I decide to replace the NGK CR7HSA?

The screen will be fine till the next go round. It's more of a rock catcher than a filter. Denso or NGK both make a good Iridium replacement plug. Just ask the clerk guy to cross reference.

I set all these plugs to 25, and check them at every oil change. I replace the plugs usually 1-2 times a year. The Iridium maybe once a year.
I ride 20-30 miles a day every day.
