Kevlar pants w/knee armor
« on: July 30, 2014, 11:28:11 PM »
Got my Mom Jeans in the mail today.
After reading a lot of reviews I went with the most Kevlar I could find - which are on Sliders riding jeans sold exclusively (I think) by competition accessories.
Also purchased the CE approved knee pads which fit in the jeans.
I went out and sat on my scoot, and I must say these things are pretty comfy!
Think Mom Jeans for Guys...they are fully cut for comfort in the crotch when sitting on a scooter seat, with longer cuffs to cover down to your boot. Nice pockets, and I swear you would think you have on a well broken in pair of your Mom's jeans. The material and fit are that soft & comfy.
Stylish? Heck no! But when you get to where you're going you'll walk around in comfort looking like the late Andy Griffith hunting a Chocola and a Moon Pie. (Think Levis 550 type fit.) And if you come off your scoot on the way there, you'll have a couple extra seconds of Kevlar protection for a lot of your hide.
Order your correct jean size - certainly no larger than that!
These aren't full-on armored riding pants, but they are a heck of a lot better than cotton jeans...perhaps something you would wear on your w/e country rides?

A couple of years ago I bought bon armor mesh pants and jacket with armor that you can take out to clean ,  I just bought kevlar pants to put over the bon outfit, going to use them this spring, for the first time ,  with regular jeans they were invisable, so it should be good with the new jeans ,.

Hello, no never posted a review, so here goes.
Might want to try these on first. They do run largish....but I say that because they are a bit of a chore to walk around in - BUT they feel great when riding on the scooter!  No binding, heavy weight and soft material, with pockets for the knee pads. Looks like they'll hold for years. Again....they have the most kevlar in them of any riding jeans I looked at.
I like them...just wished I could have sat a scoot when picking the size to see if one size down would still have been comfortable on the scoot.

Plutonium laced Gstring is next huh fellas? How many have hopped on the scoot just wearing shorts, tshirt helmet and tennies? You guys buying the protective gear for safety is a good thing. Where do you stop? Robocop outfit?
