Poor Mans Bluetooth
« on: August 01, 2014, 07:00:24 PM »
Seen Bluetooth mentioned in another thread and thought I'd ask what people are using. I'm always looking for the cheap way out so I was thinking (smell the smoke), wouldn't it work:
If it's just two riders and you were riding in good cell reception, couldn't you just plug in a headset to your phone and just call the other person. Now before you all laugh this off, I'm really thinking of this. OR are the 2 person headsets just too cheap to worry about?

I tried riding with earbuds in and they hurt my ears. The helmet pushed them into my ears and made it hurt to much to be comfortable. The Bluetooth I'm looking at is a Sena SMH-5 and it's only $129. It can do a lot of things and Sena just updated the speakers to a larger pair and they sound pretty damn good. You may want to look into getting a Bluetooth. See what would work out for you.

Ride safe, mscmkr

I ride with Uclear system.  Several of my friends also use them as well.  The company developed the radio system for the Navy Seals.
