Hey wkreps. I see yout fuelly tag there. I didnt know the super 8 did so bad. I got 68 mpg on ky last two tanks in my 300. My 163 Like even did low 80s.

I saw some spec that it was rated at 75MPG so I'm not too far off. I have been surprised that some of these bigger scoots get as good or better MPG. Is EFI to blame for that? I've tracked my MPG from day 1 so if you want you can go back and look at the history. It's double MPG of my car so I'm satisfied but can't help but wonder a little about it myself. doesn't keep me up at night though.

EFI is part of it, but also, a scoot with a bigger engine uses considerably less throttle to run the same speed that our Super 8 150's do at full chat.
I don't religiously track my MPG, but I have noticed that when I'm riding in town at 35-45 mph all day, which is a 150's comfort zone, I have easily beaten 70 mpg, and flirted with 80 once or twice.
If running on 55mph roads, we're pretty much at WOT, so the gas disappears faster.
A bigger scoot can run 55 and have throttle to spare, so they don't drain the tank as bad.

The only reason I want to move up in CC's is so that I can hop on the highway when needed. My people's 200 (163) can't hack it.

What holds me back though is that I need a scoot that will fit sideways in my garage. Not sure what the lenght of a 250-300 CC scoot is compared with my people's.

If size/space is an issue Check out the SYM HD200. Best bang for the buck out there.
Don't let 171cc fool you it's a 70-75mph/GPS scoot.

After I sold my P200 I bought. RV200, same motor as the HD, and rode from Bay Head to north jersey every day. Turnpike, 287, 78 etc no issue cruises 65-70.

For the highway I manage with my GV250 with very little power to spare.  If someone wants to ride the highway I recommend 300 to 400cc.  300 / 350cc is perfect as long as the gas mpg doesn't fall too much. 

I road burgman 400 which seems to have the same or less take off as my gv250 but WAY more on the highway.  I hit an indicated 90mph with more left.  MPG is great but it is wide and somewhat bloated in my opinion and all 500 / 600 / 650's are out of the question - too much $$, hard to resell, too heavy, poor mpg, unnecessary power, etc.

I think one of the best overall scoots is the Piaggio BV350.  Full sized wheels / forks / suspension.  Best in class? mpg.  Easy availability for parts? Cheap to buy second hand.

Nothing wrong with window shopping. I bought the Like because I like the traditional scooter design. Since the day I bought it just over 2 years ago I've been eyeing the Vespa 300 GTS. I'll wait until the Like serves me no more before buying, but until then I'll continue to scope out the GTS.

I'm in the samve place with the GV250.  Not enough of a reasons to replace it.  I thought the Burgman 400 was the answer until I road it.
