After 6 Months . . . .
« on: August 08, 2014, 06:45:16 PM »
My coworkers told me when I got my scoot that in 6 months I'd want a Harley (like they ride). I said no way. I have no interest in a HD. Well it's only been 5 months but I find myself secretly looking under the internet pages at the Downtown 300. She's so pretty yet bold and strong at the same time. I think I have a crush.

Looks fantastic in blue! But the white is the most beautiful to me...

There is a white one at my dealer. That's what got me started.

The only reason I want to move up in CC's is so that I can hop on the highway when needed. My people's 200 (163) can't hack it.

What holds me back though is that I need a scoot that will fit sideways in my garage. Not sure what the lenght of a 250-300 CC scoot is compared with my people's.

I really loved my Yager "200"i until my wife talked me into a newer bike. Now after not quite a year and 10000 miles you won't get me on anything but my DT300i! Smooth (not enough "O's in smooth to describe), quiet and very tractable. Pull very strongly whenever. Yah, I look but that's about it......

Easy to find yourself browsing, however after a recent trip to Europe I've gone the other way. Had my Tiger 1050 SE (which I love!) for the past 2 years and had big bikes for the past 15 years, but decided I wanted a bike that was easier to handle and more fun about town....test rode and now have a DT300 ABS as well. So 2 great bikes, one for the city and one for long trips....very happy.

Looking forward to riding both as much as I can!!!

That blue looks really good.
I knew the USA got orange, but that's the first I knew of a blue option.
Here in the UK we only get white.

2012 Goldwing and a 2013 Xciting 500 sort of cover the spectrum for me and my type of riding. I've always had a dualsport/ adventure bike too so I could at least tour some of these "Deliverence" type roads in the Ozarks. I am legally armed and do so in these deep country areas. My last one was a BMW R1100GS.

I love riding the scooter and probably pick it over the Goldwing for most of my rides here in the country.

I have had a Zuma 50cc two-stroke and two Zuma 125's on the small side and a Honda 250cc Reflex abs, and Aprilia Atlantic 500, two 650 Burgmans, a Yamaha T-max 500 and my current Xciting 500 and my preference is 250cc's and up, since the scoots aren't so stressed running at 50 to 75 mph highway speeds.

Choices are cool!
