Rear Tire for Kymco People 50
« on: August 27, 2014, 08:17:03 PM »
Hey guys!
I've been looking for a good rear tire for my Kymco People 50. Does anyone have any suggestions other than the usual Shinkos? I'm looking for something on the affordable side as well.

I changed it on my scoot from stock Kenda to a Heidenau K66 tire. It's quite good, although on front I have Michelin City Grip and that tire is better. Couldn't get one for rear so I picked Heidenau and overall I'm happy with that set!

Is changing the rear tire something I can do myself?  It's in really bad shape and I need a new one.

It can be done, but with quite big effort I think, and you may do some ugly scratches on the rims. You will need some tools, like flat bars which you will insert between the tire and rim and then push... But why don't you want to take the bike to someone who does this professionally? I changed my tires this year and cost of changing was 1/10 of cost of the tires, plus you save yourself trouble and time  :)
