Has anyone fitted handguards without affecting the handlebar cover?

I have universal handguards at my TR650 motorcycle, which are only screwed at the ends of the handlebar. No problems on-/offroad and certainly suited for scooter tasks too:

There are many different universal handguards, but I like this "aerodynamic" style.

Or, replace the stock windscreen with a GIVI AirFlow, with really effective integrated hand guards!

Got a pair of these! They work great! Pretty reasonably priced too.
