I have recently purchased a used MXU 125 (06) and while on tick over the engine sounds sweet when riding there is what I can only describe as as 'stuttering' sound coming from the front of the bike when accelerating or decelerating (transmission?). Any ideas.

Have you checked the fluid levels? Most people ride them till they are bone dry.
Tryt jacking up all fours, and see if there is any "slop" in the drive train. Maybe a bad bearing/coupler, ect.
