Battery Replacement

1.  How long before you replaced your battery?

2.  What type of battery did you get?

Most OEM batts. last between 1-3 years. Gell Cell is better than wet cell, and Lithium Ion is better than both.
In the long run Gell cell is the most economical. (at the moment).

1. I replace when it's bad, scooter starts sluggishly.

2. Yuasa Maintenance Free

All this depends on how often you ride, how well you keep your battery charged ie: maintain your battery. I did put a lithium on my Yamaha Zuma, I needed the higher voltage for an old starter and possibly worn out electrical system.

I replaced the battery with another Kymco battery. I was driving to a meeting in Flower Mound TX, she started to slow down. Losing power and then she died. she would not start.  Moxie Scooters came up from Colleyville and took my baby back to the dealership.  I will know more tomorrow as to why she stopped running.

I am starting to feel  like Stig.  Moxie was suppose to call today with results from the scanner.  But no phone call. There is always tomorrow.

Unless you know when a battery was made and how long it set on the shelf...it is hard to know how long it may last.

I've had to put TWO in my DT in the last year. Last one was free from the dealer , as it was less than a year since they replaced it last. Not sure what they put in , but- told me it was a more powerful one (hoping it would last longer ) .


I'd like to invest in a Lithium Ion, but- will wait , as I would also need a nerw charger for it.

I rode my wife's Like 200 to Moxie this morning.  They had to replace the spark plug wire.  So I left her scooter to be worked on.  The brake levers did not have same pressure when you applied them.  The front brake was an instant stop and the rear brake was more gradual.  Plus I found a piece that was broken from her wreck that was not fixed. The piece help keep the rear tire well in place.
