Just to let everyone know. My stator/alternator/generator died at about 52,000 miles. Part only sixty some bucks, but allot of plastic and such to take off to get to it. Only one engine side cover to remove and water pump. But it takes quite a wile to get to it. :-*

Any pictures? Any special tools involved? What side of the engine from a sitting position?

Thanks!

I'm very surprised at the price. I would have thought 300.00 ish.

No, it's just some wire wrapped around an armature. Cheap to make. No special tools. Water pump side, right side when setting on bike. I also changed what is called the pulse generator while I had the cover removed. $30-$40.00 for part. Why not change it at same time? Saves doing it all over again if that part go's out some time in the future?  :-*
