Connected the battery tender, but it's not charging (i.e., flashing red light)

Can I jumpstart the battery with a car?

Not a great idea, but if you have to do it off a car that is not turned on. If your battery is dead it won't run the fuel injection after you take the jumpers off.

Thanks!   Can't believe this .. this is a brand new People, too.
All the fuses look okay ... I'm not sure what it could be.

Put a meter directly ON the battery terminals. If you have +12v there then you have a wiring issue. Check that out, and let us know what you get.

Check your run/stop swith on the right handle bar. Make sure it is in the run position.

I'm guessing the main fuse is blown. The KILL switch will not affect the lights ect...

Thanks for all the troubleshooting input.  It turns out that it was a dead battery.
It was caused by just leaving the key in the "off" (but not steering lock) position.  So, apparently, just leaving the key in there drains the battery??
I'm now using the Battery Tender Jr.,  it's my "friend" now.  :)

Now I need to know how to reset the clock on the dash .. I'll create a new thread.

If the key is off the power is off. The is a possibly you left your seat open and the met in light killed the battery.

Bettin:  please say that again, as the seat was also something my dealer mentioned.  What did you mean by ".. the met in the light killed the battery."?

Thanks again!!

Your under seat light, the one that comes on when the seat of open, will not turn off unless the seat is fully latched closed.
