2014 Kymco Super 8 150 Issue
« on: October 29, 2014, 11:33:26 PM »
I need to sort a loose wiring connection inside the front panel.
Anyone know how to remove or have the 2014 repair guide?

I have most everything removed but the top inner and outer panel is not releasing, any help?

The super 8 has the hardest plastics of any Kymco. The manual won't tell you how to do it. The first thing is to take off the top triangle on the nose, above the headlights. Two screws on the knee side, one below the nose. From there is a matter of finding the hidden screws, take the side skirts off screws under there. Remove all the screws on the legshield seam. Hmmm two 10mm bolts on the front. I know I'm forgetting something,i remember someone here had a video tho.

2014. not the one with the split looking headlamps with the black cover dividing the light. that model is to 2013.
mine is the 2014 with the single headlamp unit and led lights under the main reflector units.

They come apart in a similar fashion

Got everything apart, maybe lost a tab or two.
Found my issue, a main harness connector was not assembled correctly, so I fixed that, and added dielectric grease to every connection as they were all dry.

What was the issue you ask? well, this time it was if you turned the handlebars a large percentage of the time the scooter would short out and die. yes, traced to a poor connector buried along the frame. so thats under 20 miles a new dash and speedo gear drive (4+ months from a shop) and now a wiring issue that I fixed in 5 hours.

still planning to change to blade fuses, add some grounds, anti-seize any bolt going into the frame, wrap and secure wiring, lube throttle cable and preload rear suspension.
