battery 2003 different from 2009?
« on: October 31, 2014, 03:08:39 AM »
I am looking for new battery.  Several sites have batteries for 2009, but not compatible with 2003.  What's up with that?  Is there something special about 2003 LC battery or do all Super 9's take the same battery?

After a lot of looking around, I ordered a generic YTX5L-BS AGM motorcycle battery.  It's a little more powerful than the battery I took out, a ES4L-BS and a little taller (height 4.21" vs 3.39").  I seem to remember someone making a recommendation for a bigger battery, said it was approx 1" taller as I recall, but still fit the battery box.  We will see.

I did get my battery and fits/ works perfect.  Very good prices on web plus delivered to your door.  I didn't price PepBoys, but WalMart has it and it's approx $15 more.  Cheers

I was told about lithium (? Maybe gel, can't remember) that holds charge great and has better cold cranking amps.  Granted it'll be more expensive.
Almost...at...speed...limit... Aww, brake lights..
