Xciting 400i or K -xct
« on: November 07, 2014, 10:00:56 AM »
HI All,

I've been riding Kycmo scooters for a while now and have ridden the super8 125, Downtown 300i & the K-xct 300i and loved all 3 of them, however on all of these scoots I've found myself a little restrictive with regards to the riding position and comfort. I'm a big boy weighing in at 120kg and being 6'2 tall.

I have tried the Xctiing 400i and the riding position seems perfect for me and this is what is why I'm actually thinking of buying one of these.....however I'm quite concerned as when I tried it, it felt slightly heavy compared to all the other scooters mentioned above....is this a real issue or is it simply down to the fact that I'm used to the K-xct and I'm not yet used to the Xciting? N.B. I'll be using the Xciting for long trips and mountain roads more than inner city riding (I'll stick to the super 8 for that  :) )

Apart from that I love the look and everything the Xciting has to offer - any negatives that I'm missing would be very greatfull before I proceed in buying this bike.

The 400 isn't really heavy, but that's subjective I suppose.  Weight adds highway stability and riding comfort. You can always buy a little leaf blower or weed whacker, 50cc scooter and get lighter weight and get thrown all over the cobblestone tarmac!

Feel lucky that you've found a scoot that fits you well. I'm 6ft-5in and I won't tell you how many "stones" or "KG's" I weigh but I'm significantly heavier than you and even my Xciting 500 and my Burgman 650 are a little cramped. My Goldwing is touring Nirvana:)

Have fun and ride safely.

Hi Porkie,

Thanks for your input, it's definitely an Xciting 400i, as I said it's for highways and long cruises so yes it does make sense considering the very comfortable fits me perfectly.

I hope they do consider the bigger bread for scooters in the near future!

There's two new 300 class Kymcos just been announced, the Downtown 350 and the Agility Maxi 300.
Maybe best to wait and see how they shape up, they are both supposed to have increased legroom compared to the Downtown 300.

I assume you commenters are not in the U.S. Because I didn't think the 400 was available here.  I have 2 (250's).  They both serve my purpose but the 300 & 400 seem like a good upgrade someday.
