Battery for a Yager
« on: November 23, 2014, 02:34:06 PM »
Can anyone recommend a good battery for the Yager? My cheap one purchased through my dealer is dying, and I'd rather buy a good, reliable one instead of getting the same crappy one that I have now.

Thanks,

Wolf

Thanks Zombie!

I'm actually looking for the specific size/type to fit in my Yager. I am looking at the Shorai brand, but I don't want to order the wrong size.

One of those links went direct to the size/rating page for shorai.

What I would do is measure yours, and go for the highest rating (ah). It's a win/win.

If you want I'll come pick you up, and we can ride down there together... Love ya Wolf!

Wolf, recommend measuring the original (assuming it is the right size) and measuring the intended replacement. Better yet, measure the box and fit the largest capacity that actually will fit in the box. Yuasu and Shoai both make pretty good batteries IMO. I used a Wal-Mart replacement in my Yager which worked well until I traded it. Zombie recommended a li-ion which should work really well but they are pricey.

You have to purchase a specific float charger as well.

Nice idea on measuring the actual box! ;)

Yuasa battery chart....I used this to read about  batteries & find the correct, larger size that would still fit my KYMCO scooter last summer, with same cable attachment type, etc. Then purchased shipping free from amazon.

Thanks everyone. My scooter broke down in Philly on Saturday, and I had to lock it up and leave it there. I'll measure everything and order a new battery tomorrow.

Thanks again,

Wolf

Philly... It's gone already. That, and the lamp pole it was chained to. Maybe a section of the sidewalk as well
