Seat looks mighty thin where it counts and has the same dreaded hump. Wonder what the CCs are, folks get lowballed on the Like w/only 163cc.

At first I thought it had the SYM 171 liquid cooled kicker. If it did it would be a beast but......
It appears to be air called and that changes things. They went half way. Added FI but no liquid cooling.

Aircooled might be old engineering - and probably leaves a few HP on the table compared to liquid cooled engines of the same cc's - but as an old VW enthusiast  - I absolutely prefer the simplicity of upkeep and reliability of a well made aircooled engine - so many fewer things to screw up or leak or parts to buy! The savings in parts helps keep the price down for the dealer - but he need make no apologies for the A/C engine to me! It was a + selling point to me for the LIKE200i.

I think this might send Kymco back to the table to re-vamp the LIKE - but in living with my LIKE I've come to really appreciate the handsome lines drawn by that Italian house.

SYM makes a very fine product and this is a nice looking scooter - but parts and dealers remains a sticking point for many in certain areas of the USA.
I love my LIKE - but I whish it were made in Taiwan (probably just a mental failing in me, still...)
Wonder if this new SYM continues the pattern of being made in Taiwan?

Shoot - who knows?....my Forza is made in Thailand - not even Taiwan - Thailand !!- for an old V. vet that's taken some getting used to, for reasons I can't articulate.

But, as one poster here stated....the guy who designed the LIKE's seat should be set on fire!
Thanks for the info on the new SYM , you guys.

Unlikely when both have a very similar power output.

Month ago I had the chance to testride and compare the Like 200i and the Sym Fiddle II 125 directly and parallel with a friend.

There were many things I liked better on the Fiddle II than on the Like 200i.

BUT there was ONE decisive all overruling gamechanger: The Brakes....

The Front Disk Brake of the Fiddle II is a Mickey Mouse Joke. Obviously the same Joke on the Fiddle III. And the rear drum brake is not even close to a joke, because of it´s nearly zero impact...(My simple stupid Bycicle Rim-Breaks are better)

(Sym) Folks, I will never ever ever ever ever in my Life buy a bike with weak breaks. Never - ever!.

Case closed.

The brakes of the Like are fantastic and model! :-)
Cheers,
Robo

Robo,
I was looking at the disc on the front of the SYM....and wondered why it is not as visible in the spokes of the LIKE front wheel.
Is it that much smaller than the LIKE?
And, yes. The LIKE has brakes that require very little 'pull' to bring the rider to a quick stop....
The adventure is trying to stay on the seat when you give the levers a firm pull!
Compared to my Forza (nearly 200 lbs heavier than the LIKE) the LIKE's brakes feel like 'power brakes' on an automobile.
Again, seeing those 2 discs down there were a selling point for me with the purchase of the LIKE. (no test rides avail. at my dealer - so had to rely on appearances!)

Not dis-respecting Thailand at all either. They are a country that can, and will do whatever it takes to survive the global market. Much the same as South Korea, and Taiwan.

I guess they are the Asian, Mexicans... ::)

1 scoot I like for various reasons is the Super 8 150. Like the looks and the bigger wheels. Sym has a good reputation but dealers here are hard to come by to check out stuff.

That's why the "quotes" are there.
I couldn't even make a convincing argument as to what happened in my house yesterday, never mind some silly country 1/2 way to the moon from here.

I'm not THAT bright. ;)

Ps... After the quotes is all me. (just to avoid any confusion)
