Want a clean scooter
« on: December 08, 2014, 12:35:54 AM »
I do not get very much $, all things considered,  from Honda for posting pictures or endorsing their products - so, take that in consideration here:

I haven't been around bikes or scooters for very long - so I asked around, and this stuff was mentioned more than once. So I bought a can and found that it really works great. Cleans and puts a heck of a nice water-beading protection all over my scooters (I wouldn't  use it on the seat or tires ) Safe to use on scooter wind screens, etc.

Looks good on painted panels and the black plastics.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Yes, I wash with soap and water.

I had just started using Maxima SC1 Polish. I love this stuff and like how water just runs right off when rinsing off the bike or scooter.

A lot of moto guys also recommend Pledge. I have never tried it .... on of these days.

Here's a pic after applying the Maxima SC1 polish ...... of my sport bike :p Sorry, I have no pics of the scooter after applying the stuff. Regardless, the stuff makes my bike look like it just came off the show room floor :)

We called it "Auction day wax" . It has petroleum products that remove bug/gull stains, soot from fuels, ect. Plus it does "wax" the surface for some short time. UV exposure kills it pretty quickly tho.

if you want a waterproof wax shine/bead that will last longer than anything else made... Pure Carnuaba wax is the only product to use.
I warranty all my wax work for one full year in the Florida sun.
Clean the surface w/ anything... Dawn Dish soap is great. Use a Micro glaze or Stereo glaze to fill swirl scratches, and 2 coats of Carnuaba wax will have it better than new for longer than any other product.

I can wash/polish/wax a 50 foot boat (hull only) in an 8 hour day. A scooter would take 45 minutes, and last a full year. No excuse for messing w/ all those "snake oils".
(most are silicone based, some are Bee's wax, but they all fail in UV.
