Didn't find any threads on plastics removal

So is there a tutorial on removal of the Tupperware on the People GT300i?  If not, any tips, or just wing it? I'm sure there must be a lot of tabs to be broken if one doesn't know where or what to look out for.

Is there enough room where the stock horn is located to house a stebel or Wolo Bad Boy horn?  Best spot to install a power plug- SAE or cigarette lighter.  There's a panel on the right side in front of one's knee that mimics the locked compartment on the left.  Can this be used, opened, whatever?

I wish there was some sort of better directions on how to remove the plastic, but I haven't found any. A YouTube video would be great. Just take it slow and be very careful. There are little tabs all over the place - work it, but don't force it too hard. Resist the temptation to pry!

I've mounted a Steble compact air horn under the front cowling. I separated the horn from the compressor and fabricated a bracket. Wasn't an easy task, but possible if you are handy. Sorry I didn't take any photos.

Can't help with the initial removal of Tupperware but when you reassemble the pieces put a dab of white lithium grease on the tabs and their sockets.  It will make assembly easier and future disassembly easier too.  It does not seem to really loosen the tabs when they are totally engaged but as soon as they are moved just a little they come apart easily.

OK, so I decided to start on the plastics removal yesterday without benefit of how-to, just grab my huevos and hope for the best.
Camera battery was dead so no pix, sorry.
1. it never got below 50° the night before so that helped.  The hair dryer would probably work for those of you in colder climates.
2. remove all the phillips head screws on riders side of leg shield
3. press the center of the plastic rivets on either side of top cover under the handlebars, the gently remove the nose piece-slight lift and pull gently forward to release the tabs.
4. remove the visible nut 12mm IIRC, the the two phillips screws visible on each side of that nut.
5. remove screw from inside of the glove box at the bottom-mine was missing???
6. remove all the plastic rivets securing the radiator guard, the gently remove the guard.
7. remove 2 phillips screws at the outside edges-visible from the front and about half way down

Now insert a small screwdriver ( a plastic putty knife may be safer) from the rear between the front and back halves of the upper cowling-you'll see and feel a gentle give of the tabs as you slide the knife between. Continue across the top and down the side until all if free.  Repeat on the other side. Now lift off the cowling, and voila! you're done.

Took 45 minutes-could now probably do it in 15.

Installed a Stebl horn in OEM horn location-relay velcro'd to top of glove box under the cowling-loud sucker! It is a tight fit and you have to bend the OEM mount a tad, but it fits

Congrats on the air horn install!  Isn't it great to have that sort of sound power?  When a car makes a bone-head move you can blast 'em so they think a Mack truck is bearing down on them!

However, you do have to be careful. Once a car didn't yield me the right of way in a round-a-bout, I gave her a blast and I think it scared her so much she slammed on the brakes and came to a complete stop. Didn't hit her, but it made it worse that it was. With power comes responsibility Grasshopper.

I've got one on my Triumph as well-also had one on my Piaggio MP3 500, Harley Sportster, and Fat Bob- Goldwing doesn't need it-sounds like an Escalade already.

I just yesterday put in a new spark plug in the  GT300i, as I have put over 5,500 miles on it.

My consternation with the whole process was getting the blasted plastics off! I have the service manual, and the only thing it said was to remove the seat, met-in cover, and the front cover. No picture or illustration at all. There was a photo of the spark plug, but where it was taken is beyond me.

After three attempts, I snapped off two of the hold-down bolts (it was my fault, as I tightened them too much) on the met-in piece putting it back on without ever figuring out how to remove the front cover.

I thought an illustration showing parts assembly showed a "hook" and slot arrangement holding the front cover in place...well, after three try's I discovered it was held in place by, basically, friction fit! At least I got the piece off and after discovering the spark plug location it was simple, except for drilling out the two met-in bolts and epoxying new ones in place so I could add some new acorn nuts.

Now all I have to do is remember how I did the removal 'tii the next spark plug is needed in 6,000 miles.

I think Kymco could add some better instructions on plastics removal...I also have a Yamaha Morphous and the Owners Manual has really neat drawings about taking ALL the panels off .
