Year in review?
« on: January 01, 2015, 01:38:27 PM »
I'm just curious if anyone else would like to share their impressions of the past riding year.  Mine was marred by accidents, health issues and bad weather and timing.  Add in some mechanical issues and I only managed a little over 6 thousand miles this year (10,500 KM).  About half of what I normally do.

A brief write up in on the blog (see the link below) if your interested.   ???

SOS here.

Bike works / work sucks. Here's to another whole year of more of the same.

On the bright side I'm back in school, and starting a new business. Cheers!

Mediocre weather here ...late Spring/early Winter . Good rides when we could .

Lost job (Displaced Worker )... BOO ...may qualify for more schooling (FREE )...YAY... through Gov't Funding .Will find out soon . Couldn't do layoffs in Summer when Scoot could be used for job searching, of course...always just before the Holidays   >:(.

Looking for a better NewYear with much more time on the Scoot and more visits (on Scoot ) to see my 82 y/o Dad (90 miles away...real reason for buying Scoot and larger displacement of 300cc) at Camp.

This past year was a good one for me. I have experienced some serious health issues in the past. No trouble in that regard this year. Thank goodness.
I had many good rides this past year, even though I was rear ended at a traffic light this past summer. I was not hurt except for a slightly bruised ankle.
Like I said, I had many wonderful rides and my GT performed great.
When i'm not riding, i'm thinking about riding. Like right now.

I love motor scooters and riding.

Even after getting t-boned on the trike and having to total it the year was great.
Still on the north side of the dirt and still beating the system. Sure I spend a ton of time at Mayo but they manage to keep a very compromised body moving. I can live with that.

Put a hair short of 30k on an assortment of scoots.
Also rode a whole bunch of the new crop.
Burgamn 200
Homda Forza
PCX 150
Genuine Hooligan
Lance Cabo
Stella auto
Yamaha Smax
Kymco Myroad 700
BMW c650

Some good some underwhelming.

I also like my scoot ballance in the garage. The DT300 for most days and the SYM RV200 as a "urban assault scoot". The Lance Cali Classic may be on her way out, just no time for her.

Here's to a great 2015!

You own all those scoots at one time? If so you've been blessed.

To be clear I should have said , put just short of 30k on "my" assortment of scoots.
Also rode a whole bunch of the new crop. I own the three in my signature.

I was able to test ride most of the new scoots. No I don't own them all at the same time.
There is a guy on another forum that has at least six on my list plus a few others in his stable.

I had health issues, lost old job, finally found a new one with inferior conditions.
So despite having the time, I rode less than usual.
But I bought my first motorcycle (always had scooters before) and had a nice 4 day trip through the Western Alps. At least I sold my Xciting (and still having a Yager GT 125).

I had a pretty good year.  I rode around 17.5K miles which is the most I've done in a long time.  4000 of those miles where on my Super 8 150.  The super 8 is my main around town & commuting bike.  I rode 5500 miles on my Sport City 250 and the rest on my motorcycles.

I expect to have an even better year for 2015 and hope to do a ride out West.

Pretty good year! New DT300i got over 13k miles, traded wife's Like for a People GT300i. Put a Tow-Pac set of "training wheels" on it after a slow-speed dump (after about 200 miles on two wheels). She is hot to ride again! Got a Harbor Freight trailer for it and are planning a trip to Cumberland Gap when it warms up around July.

Gave my People 250 S to hubby when I almost tipped a few times. Had one shoulder rebuilt and other needing it .

I found the seats on all the People ( including the GTs ) to be too high and top heavy, especially with the 16" wheels . I'm 5'8" and had to tiptoe to touch ground when on seat . DT 300i is just right . Can put both feet flat while seated and do not have to struggle to keep bike up so much. Maybe your wife would do better on yours ?

Tried that, bluesin, but she wasn't having it! I think she was afraid of its bulk and power and maybe the perceived wrath if she dropped it or scratched it. She is deleriously happy with the People now it has four wheels!
