Been checking around for insurance for the scoot. Most place say you have to carry the same plan as a motorcycle which is high priced.scoots under.100cc should be cheaper.

Besides being required by law ins is only a hedge against a loss. Helped me tremendously last year when my scoot was stolen. Another aspect to full coverage is if some idiot causes you to wreck and has no ins your underinsured/uninsured kicks in and will help you to recover your losses. If someone who has no ins hits you and is at fault chances are they're judgement proof with no assets. About 10 years ago a truck almost hit me head on and I had to lay the m/c down and I broke my foot. He was cited for careless. His ins would only cover 25k max period the state required min to be legal. Well my underinsured kicked in big time and I needed it. Hosp bills, 3 months off of work, lots of incidental costs. I had a high coverage and it saved my butt, of course the lawyer took a 1/3 but I was way better off than what the ins offered me on my own.

I had an entire post written out but decided to delete it (rare for me).

Given the fact that Blue (by law) has socialist medical coverage... The scooter should be a write off.

I had to edit again... It had something to do w/ grease spot on the road (sorry blue)

I'm insured to the teeth on everything I own. Had I not been when I got hit last march it would of been 20k out of my pocket. I could have sued the uninsured driver but can't draw blood from a stone.

Then we also have those that make their living by trying to sue anyone for anything. Got to cover thy ass.

Maine law doesn't charge FULL M/C amount unless it is over 200 cc.

My insurance costs are minimal ( about $200.00 / 12 month coverage ) for a 300cc . It will replace bike at FULL valuation ( as it was bought new ) , ALL protective gear and accessories ( saddlebags/GPS/etc. ) with a $500.00 deductible .

Costs were less with multiple vehicle (husbands bike ) , M/C Safety course , and years of riding (more so with no loss/accident free ) .

Flo is apretty cheap Insurance Wh#@e.

Say your scoot is 5 years old Blue, will your ins buy you a new scoot? What co is this? Progressive doesn't have that clause in their policy.

Yes my scoot is new its a 2014 paid cash.the best way to get cheap insurance around here is if you are financing a scoot threw a bank and then you have to have insurance.bec as use I paid cash insurance is still over 280 or more  year.I was hopeing for less then that.

For three hundred I'd ride for a year like I stole it, and drop it off a cliff at 13 months. Screw them backwards!

Progressive DOES have it in their policy (at least they do in the policy I got in Maine ) . They will replace (fully ) up to three years .
