rear braking light improvement.
« on: January 15, 2015, 04:09:35 AM »
Hello fellow DT-ers.

Have you guys noticed the rear brake like is a bit weak, as in dim.

A bit of a worry at night when i am on the highway. I have compared it to other scooters, especially the SYM 200/250 and their's is fantastic. Maybe because the run a LED grip and ours a single filament bulb.

Has anyone upgraded that bulb to a brighter LED unit? I would like to see how i can improve the safety for night riding.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/s-series-bulbs/1157-led-bulb--dual-intensity-28-high-power-led-/1644/

That website is AWESOME. They are not cheap, but the product is very nice. I linked the one I have, is expensive but It'll last forever. VERY bright, it went from what your talking about dim, to almost too bright. There are cheaper ones on there, but if you want the brightest get that one.

hello kneeslider, I put one of these in,

and a couple of pictures here,

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f130/donjack1964/newledwithbrakeon_zps925358f4.jpg

the difference between on and off in the pictures doesn't look much but there is a big difference!!
hope this helps,
Cheers,
Don.

A little tip with leds, if you get the red ones your tail light is brighter. White you have wasted light that gets filtered away, red all of the light is let through the lens.

Too much blinker fluid might cause an over-headed muffler belt, which in turn leads to premature tire bearing failure.

When I was in the service we used to have the new guys take exhaust samples from trucks in trash bags, have them seal them up with a zip tie, label the trash bag with spray paint, and turn it into the Chief. You should've seen the look on his face when a new private handed him an "exhaust sample"

What weight blinker fluid? Is it different from right and left blinkers. If heavy weight fluid...how does this affect balanceof the bike ?

Don't you need a Trunk Monkey to maintain the level for you ?
