Hey JRose, Welcome.

Wait for someone to verify this but I think it is a pink wire that gets cut on your CDI. Too many shots to the head so I forget a little.

Not to be a smart ass but while your waiting try searching S 8 derestrict here. It migh give you the answer.

Rev your bike on the center stand, does it hit a rev limiter? If not then it's de restricted already.

Yes it hits a rev limit. Also it does not have a pink wire that is the old model i believe. When it hits 35 mph it can not push any harder as it sounds like it is about to blow up. I have a kit, pipe, carb, i have clutches which are not on yet but will help but i know that there is a restrictor in the cdi i just do not know how to remove it.

The super 8 isn't that easy! Also on the newer than 2007 people they took that easy derestriction wire off! Those dicks

Then I wonder if the s9 adapter module, and CDI would work?
Racing Planet has them for under 70 bucks I think

The Super 8 2t 2012 CDI is not restricted and replacing it will not make your scoot faster.
