Texas roads sometimes have speed limits of 75mph, even secondary roads ... I was pushing my Like to about 60mph, then getting a check engine light , ( maybe the rev limiter kicking in ) I reduced back down to 50mph and no more check engine light ... Has anyone replaced their ECU with the programmable version ??
The long neck mirrors are from Italy - sold on American ebay. Goofy looking - but I can see safely behind me now. Keep them waxed - apparently it never rains in Italy.
And, an
extended ride in the mid 50's is a healthy top speed for the LIKE200i - with that air cooled 163cc engine, the wheel size and wheel base. If you need more speed you might want to trade up.....rather than trying to do a work-around on this scooter as built (and priced).
Stay off the rev limiter, if there is one, keep that one quart of oil fresh and valves looked after, use good gas, run it regularly, and it will probably last a long time - and a lot of miles.
This scooter has a lot of good qualities as an urban scooter - giving a lot of pep in city situations as needed, but she ain't a highway cruiser. I think if you are finding the rev limiter - the Kymco boys are trying to tell you something..
I'm certainly no expert - just sayin'
Nice looking scoot.....if a little bare.
