Wow, nice trim job anyways!  As for the problem, I don't have any bright ideas.  You may want to try and contact Kymco to verify a cdi restriction for '09.

I only have 2 thoughts on this. 1; If the cdi is already programed for NO restriction the engine will rev over 8'000 rpm's w/ NO hesitation. I tried searching the web for you w/ no results for an '09. 2; you can contact Suitai to get more info on the cdi you have, or if needed order a de-restricted FACTORY cdi. Here's the link     www.motorcycle-components.com/. I would certainly re-seal the one you have w/ epoxy to be on the safe side.

..I did a search on KYMCO cdis...appears that this one is one of the unrestricted models...

..as for scootermavens original concern, I think we concluded that all his 09 needs is some lighter rollers...

Hi there guys,

I have a '10 Kymco agility 50, its restricted but is just too slow,
Does anyone know if you have to do the CDI and the Variator Boss thing at the same time, or if you can just do the CDI?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Change the boss as well. It's a misery with it
