Hello everyone, I just picked up a kymco people 250 2006 with about 9000 miles in San Diego yesterday.  This is my first scooter but not first bike.  I bought a 2005 kawasaki ZX-6R brand new and rode it for 8 years, totalled it 3 times and sold it in 2013 with 28,000 miles on it.  The guy I bought my p 250 did a few things to make the bike more functional like, adding a surf board rack, and a giant givi windscreen, but I want to put a cellphone mount somewhere on the bike and looking at it I'm having trouble figure out how its going to work.  I want to use one similar to this one but I'm not picky and haven't picked up one yet.  Any advise would be great. 


PS also if anyone has any links to some parts to get to soup up the 250 a bit that would be great as well.  I do about 20 miles a day on the hwy with it and would like a little more top end.

Congrats on your purchase, many ways to mount the phone but I have no advice what is best for you.

So since no one has post a suggestion I'll post what I found yesterday. 

option 1 (cheap $9)  This attaches to the mirror, I checked the size last night and it will fit.  Not sure how well this one is going to hold up to bumps and what not, but for 9 bucks I ordered one and will let people know how it works. 
Here is what it looks like mounted with a card board 5" phone analog.


Option 2 (expensive $50-70)  Ram mount kit.  So this one you need 3 parts at least.  RAM-B-272 9mm mirror mount base, an arm part like RAM-B-201-C and the X-clamp to hold the phone RAM-HOL-UN7BU.  This is probably the best option and I'll probably end up using this one when I have the cash next month. 

That was all I could find honestly.  There really are not alot of options like bikes with a triple tree on them.

I DO have one. It applies to Tom TomGPS ( waterproof and I have it on handlebar ) . It IS a Ram Mount, but- only cost around $15.00and should hold other Ram Products .

So another option I got for free from a coworker. A small suction cup cell phone holder I put on my giant givi windshield. I'm not trusting it yet since it bounces alot. Going to test it with some cardboard shaped like my phone.

If the phone falls while you are driving... what are the chances you will not even look to see where it goes.

A solid mount that is secure is really the only option. Distractions + scooters = less than desirable results. 8)

So I had to test it the other day, and omg it was so scary seeing it wobble like crazy, but it held solid even at 70+mph on the hwy.  I think next month I'm going to spend the 50 bucks on a ram kit and x-clamp.  Or head to my library and 3D print something to hold my phone in the current mount I have.

lol I agree.  I had to run an errand to place I hadn't been before, so up went the phone with the gps.  Again it held my Nexus 5 with no problems.  It was very scary but I think the only worry is that the sticky backing might come off in the heat.  This one is so sticky its very hard to take off so I'm not that worried about it coming off while riding.  My worry is just readability which is why I'm going to change out for a X-clamp if i can find a mount that will work with my now new 10mm threaded mirrors.

The ram mount is what I'm going to use once I get around to it.  The cheap chinese one "works" but I really don't trust it.  I used the Ram mount X-clamp with my phone on my buddies aprilla mana 850 GT a week or two ago and I liked it.
