Only 93!  I ran out of gas while tuning at my house once and put some regular for the lawn mower in there.  I didn't think I was going to make it to the gas station!  It sputtered and hesitated the whole way!  I'll never do that again!

..93 for me...don't know why there would be any question, if you've ever tried anything other than premium...

The users manual specifies 93.  The dealer said it would run on 87, which it will, but when I then put the question to the Kymco tech, he said 93.  So that's what I have been using with good starts and restarts this past 1300 miles.

I live in the US and I read somewhere that the ratings are different here and that 87 = 92 in overseas ratings. I don't know if that is true, but I use 92 and haven't used anything else. I know it makes a difference in my performance cars and scooters are really performance automibiles ( considering their extremely small size). Octane rating reccomendations are based on compression. The higher the compression the higher the octane requirements. Most cars are around 9to1. Anything above 10 to 1 requires 89 or higher and 10.5 to one reguires 92 or higher. My scoot says it is 11 to 1.

Another consideration about your experience with stored fuel for lawn mowers, etc. is the aging process.  If you are like me having more than one gas can in the shed you might be using fuel that is a year or two old that has lost a lot of it's volatility.  It pays to use freshest gas in the scoot and dump the questionable stuff in the car where in the mix, it won't make that much difference.

We used to put a quart of methanol in our cars every now and then to clean and dry our systems. It gave a good boost to performance too. I'm gonna try 25 milliliters in a tank and see how that goes. I'll let you know how it goes.

Methonal, or ethonal. BIG DIFF. Back in the day HOT RODDING, I used XYLENE injection on hot rod engines to keep it all clean. But I would NEVER mix it in the tank. Might as well use Neuclaicic acid to keep the rust off. You know , the stuff from Alien!

Yeah, methanol. Ethanol is what gives us problems.
