It's time to buy new Agility 50?

Riding season is here and I don't want to take my scooter to far from the house because I don't want to walk back home. I just had the belt replaced and I think they put it back together wrong. I lost power and there is now a clanging sound coming form the clutch. I have 20,000 km on it. I think it is time to buy a new one. If I do get a new one I probably won't have it sped up this time after the first 500 km and I have the belt replaced at a kymco dealer instead of a place in town. What do you guys think? There is also oil in the air box and I have been riding it without a air filter. They also passed a law in my state that starting in the summer of 2015 you have to have insurance, title, and license plate. How much is insurance a month for a moped?

Get a new scoot and at the same time fix the one you have so you can resale and make some cash off it.or keep for a second one.

Why buy a 50, you can get a great deal on an agility 125 new old stock. Even better a used one with say 500 miles on it. I just couldn't be happy with a 50 in traffic.

I live in Az and my people 150 insurance costs me $168 yr. that is for full coverage collision and all.

I gotta agree your better off buying a new old stock agility 125. Their much faster than a 50cc and can keep up with traffic. Its worth getting your M class license as well. Insurance and registration for the year on these scoots are inexpensive.

My ins is $160 USD for a full year with full coverage. If there is any hesitation on getting your full motorcycle endorsment, go for it. My 150cc Super8 is actually listed on the title as 149.7cc and I thought I'd opt for the lower class license. After the fact I'm very glad I did. Now I can upgrade if I want and no trip to the DMV. I'm ready for whatever I want to ride.

Lower class license? This greek to me. In KS you either have a motorcycle endorsement or you don't. It was maybe $20 to get it and required a very easy test. You seem to have 50cc experience so riding through the test should be easy for you. I agree that a 125 is a better choice. I rode a 50 for a year and felt the hate of everyone who ever drove behind me. I think my minimum insurance was about $100 a year. In KS you dont have to insure a 50 because here its a moped not a motorcycle. We do have to tag it. If you gotta do everything but get the endorsment anyway then just spend the 20 and get the endorsment. You'll be able to go the speed limit. People wont hate you and eveyone wins.

Here in CO there is an advantage to ride a 50cc scoot. Regular DL , low power scoot registration and liability ins is all that is needed to be legal. The low power scoot reg sticker is only $5 for 3 years or so. There is a definite advantage. I just wouldn't have the smile on my face that my 150 gives me though. 1 other advantage to a 50cc is they can be had for cheap on the used market compared to bigger scoots.
